Maryland Artists Mary Jo Kehne and Allison Pasarew both reveal their love for creating complex 2D & 3D artwork that demonstrates their attention to detail and unique view of life. Their artwork includes ball point pen drawings and framed sculpture from watch parts, gears and wire.

"Imagine No Malaria" Pancake Breakfast and Flea Market FundraiserAA

On Saturday, April 26, Bethany United Methodist Church will hold a pancake breakfast and flea market to raise money to support the United Methodist Church’s “Imagine No Malaria” campaign. Malaria, transmitted through the bite of a mosquito, claims a life every 60 seconds. It is preventable, treatable and beatable.

Breakfast will be served from 8-10:30 a.m. Enjoy pancakes, sausage, fruit cocktail, hot apples, orange and/or apple juice, coffee, and milk. Donation requested is $7 for adults; $4 for children under 12; with a maximum of $20 per family of 4 or more.

Maryland Artists Rana Geralis and Brenda Kidera both reveal their love for painting the intimate and subtle beauty of wildlife coupled with the strength and power of the horse. Their artwork includes oil, watercolor, and pastel paintings.
The art show will run from 10 July to 21 July 2016 at HorseSpirit Arts Gallery, 8090 Main Street, Ellicott City, MD 21043 with the opening reception on Sunday, 10 July from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

10th Annual Chalk-It-Up ContestAA

The Howard County Tourism & Promotion staff will host the 10th annual Chalk-It-Up Contest street painting competition where entrants can win cash prizes. Saturday, June 14, 10 am – 7 pm and Sunday, June 15, 10 am – 5 pm

This competition takes place during the Columbia Festival of the Arts FREE Weekend on the Lakefront, a weekend-long event on the lakefront in Columbia Town Center that includes live music, an invitational arts and crafts show, strolling performers, festival food fare-- including Maryland Wineries and a Brew Zone--and an array of activities and entertainment for all ages.
